Mermaid Avenue

So around christmas last year I was in Vivienne Westwood (always a dangerous shopping destination for me) and found a cardigan reduced to £50. Difficult to wear? Yes. Far too big? Most certainly. Did I buy it anyway? Hell yes :)

I haven't worn it since, until today, and kind of always half considered writing it off as one of those sale mistakes and selling it. However, my all-enduring love of the cardigan has persevered and today it served it's purpose as a light summer outer layer just perfectly.

All topshop except cardi - Vivienne Westwood.

Don't be deceived into my thinking my skirt is just ridiculously short (although it kind of is) This cardigan is just very long, hence the lack of wear. An XL man's size may be pushing it a little...

I Still Remember

Hi guys! Sosososo sorry about the massive lack of posting!!! Broken camera + piles of uni work means I've hardly had time to read other people's blogs, let alone post on mine :( on the bright side, I have acquired lots of lovely new clothes to show off, and hopefully, with my newly repaired camera, i'll be able to post some soon!
Lots of love, always xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Stabbed

Skirt - H&M, Shirt - Zara, Skirt - H&M

Started packing for my imminent move to Glasgow today (three weeks!) and i'm already on two and a half boxes of clothes, and that's only half of it :S I have absolutely no idea how to cull my wardrobe, I don't want to get rid of any of it! So i'm just taking it all, and the Glasgow charity shops will get a very generous donation or three when I realise I can't cram it all in my tiny halls wardrobe...

Anyway, this is an outfit from a while ago which i'm tempted to be all designer-y and "oooh I really liked how the waves of the skirt seem to explode out of the vertical strips, I was trying to symbolise the awakening of femininity etc etc" about, but basically I just love this skirt because it makes me feel like a fairy... :)

Young/Free etc.

Blazer - Zara, Skirt - H&M, Shirt - Vintage, Shoes - Office

Having spent most of my holiday in Spain in Zara, i've returned with a hefty chunk of clothing, my favourite being this blue blazer which, in traditional blogger phrasing, is so super versatile and has the obligatory Balmain shoulder pads (which I completely failed to get a decent photo of). It's definitely smart enough to add a nice twist to my lacy bits and pieces anyway.

More Zara goodies to come!

We Didn't Start The Fire

Been a while :)

Decided to give in and purchase something from the Matthew Williamson collection for H&M, after all it's not often we get any collaboration stuff up here! By the time I got there there was only a few bikinis/sunglasses/scarves, a couple of silk kaftan things and this top, in black and white or blue and green:

Belt - Vintage men's
Skirt - H&M

Also only available in a size large, but the cut of it means it really works well oversized *phew* I was gutted there weren't any of those fantastic blue blazers/trousers, may have to do some Ebay stalking and track them down...

Also scored a Ted Baker top for 6 quid in a charity shop the other day, pretty epic, and this sequin batwing top:

Sequin Top - Thrifted
Tux Jacket- Topshop
Lace Skirt - H&M
Belt - Vintage men's

I figured the tiny flash of sequins you can see here would convey the sheer sparkliness of it...

Boom Boom Pow

God bless the high street and their blatant, unashamed copycat-isms!

I was surprised that nothing like this has been available sooner, but a season late, the Steve Madden take on those Balmain show stoppers:

The Topshop version, in "gunmetal" the black version are hiding somewhere on the website... though I have to admit, I think these shoes have an appeal all of their own, aside from the obvious influence!

The question is, to indulge or not to indulge?
