Kiss With A Fist

Aaaah! Finallly my computer works huzzah hooray yippee etc. I've had some exciting clothing developments over the last few days, including a mass online spending spree! Got the little grey skirt i've been looking for for aaaaages, plus a shedload (minor exaggeration) of lovely Topshop goodies :):):) But to start with the outfit I wore to a movie night/party a few days ago...

I bought the black version of my H&M grey bodycon high-waisted skirt purely to wear under it, oooh the decadence!

Sheer black/navy floral shirt (worn as dress) - Thrifted
Belt - DP

And as for the Topshop loveliness... tbh i'm kind of high on outfit ideas right now, so i'll just show you piccies when I wear the things, otherwise i'd fill a whole page with potential outfit pics! Oh, happy times...

[BLANK PAGE]

Sigh sigh, boring boring I know, seen it allll before, but just felt a need to catch up with blogging, and this is the only outfit (which isn't work or school uniform) i've worn in the last week! I get paid tomorrow and then I can go on a major spree and create loads of jazzy new outfits, but until then:

Floral jacket - H&M
Dress - H&M
Grey Vest - H&M

My jewllery was the most exciting thing about today:

Earrings - H&M
Blue glass choker - vintage
Heart necklace - Lady Luck Rules OK (Customised with nail polish)
Woman's Own cookery medal customised with Primark hair clip :)

Although I did recently purchase a lovely blue/white vintage dress from Ebay, which I will show once it arrives *excitement excitement*

Handlebars

I've been trying to spend my last £20 aaaalllll week (you might've guessed any money I get kind of burns a hole in my pocket straight away) and today, success!!! After hours (exaggeration) of trawling in good old faithful H&M, I cam across the last size of this shirt in the discarded tried-on clothes bit, and it was the right size! Now normally I hate anything with a high neck, especially buttoned right to the top, but it's such a perfect fit and I truly heart the silky blackness of the bow, plus I can already tell it's going to get so much wear, cause it goes with alllll of my skirts, aaaaand adds a touch of sophistication to my bright teenage ones! :):):)

Shirt - H&M
Grey Knitted Waistcoat - H&M
Purple Skirt - H&M
Grey/White Tee - H&M
Grey Skinnies - H&M
Glitter Belt Skirt - Thrifted (Topshop)
Lace Top Thingy - Thrifted (Vintage?)

I'm starting to think maybe I should get H&M to pay me for advertising...

Rock DJ

So yeh, today I thrifted a Miso spotty blouse thingummyjig, and i'm wearing it out tonight con los amigos! I was experimenting with it this afternoon, and just as well, cause I had this mental image of it with grey skinnies, but when I tried it on it looked better (I think...) with my grey bodycon skirt. This selection of photos basically documents my thought process as I came up with my final outfit (the last one)

The reason those first two have a kind of golden sheen to them is that I wore a gold tank top underneath :)

It's starting to get PROPER cold here, which is worrying, since unless I get some thick tights (on the list) I might have to resort to trousers at some point over the next few moths :O and I know I should probably say something about anything to do with Fashion Week here, but I really haven't been keeping up with it, for some reason such as I can never be bothered to flick through the piles of internet galleries and videos *sigh* though from what i've seen Betsey Johnson and Marc Jacobs looked pretty impressive...

I Lust U

*clears throat* (i'm ill again) Huzzzaaaah! I finally managed to find a grey skirt! And it's bodycon! And it's High-Waisted! Both of which are steps in the dark for me, not sure how it's going to pan out but i'll give it a go... vaguely considering tartan tights with this?

Lace Top - Thrifted
Grey Skirt - H&M

Also, this is what I wore to a friend's birthday meal on Saturday. I'm quite proud of my new (new in the thrifted sense) skirt 'cause it kind of makes me think Art Deco, and feel all intellectual and stylish :) Plus i'm glad I fiiiinally got a chance to wear my Bonjour T-shirt!

Bonjour T-shirt - Topshop
Skirt - Thrifted
Jacket - Warehouse
Bag - Claire's
Scarf - Thrifted

I was also wearing the black version of this necklace from Lady Luck Rules OK, I got it in a lucky dip last week along with loads of other funky stuff, I suggest you check them out!

In This City

I've been developing my Red/Grey/Black/White obsession over the last few days, with these most recent purchases, VERY excited to find silver elbow length gloves:

Coral Top - Thrifted (Topshop)
Braces - Primark
Grey Sweater-vest - H&M
Silver Gloves - Accessorize
Black Skirt - Thrifted
Silver Belt - Primark
Red Skirt - Topshop
Necklace - Home-made
Red Jacket - Ebay
Grey/White T-shirt - H&M
Zip Skirt - Thrifted (Pepe Jeans)

And then I decided to go all nerdy with my amazing grey sweater-vest:

It was fun :) I got a bit carried away taking pictures, but managed to cut it down to those two... on a more serious note, arrrrgh applying for University is soooo stressful! Nervous and excited at the same time, and my arm hurts from my HPV vaccination :( and that is all.

Nobody's Listening

Aharr! You lucky Americans! Today the American Topshop website opened, and I thought i'd celebrate by pointing out my most wanted to all you American bloggers! (been trying to figure out if they ship to Canada, but can't find it anywhere...:( now that would just be mean if they don't) so anyway, here goes:

I'm going to buy all of these things when I get paid, except the jacket (I have a similar one in black) and the dress (I have loads of black dresses) but if I was a millionaire, or a thousandaire, or even a hundredaire, i'd buy them aaallll mwahahahaha...

You might notice i'm kind of obsessed with Red, Grey and Black atm, they're my offical Autumn colours :) Though i'm trying to integrate things like coral and yellow in my wardrobe too (difficult) but anyway, Topshop have LoooOOOaaaaAADdddSSSS of cool stuff (and I mean LoooOOOaaaaAADdddSSSS!) so ch-ch-ch-check it out!

Went thrifting today and got a gorgeous black velvet dress which fits so perfectly, and a grey skirt with red zips on it (very 90s but I think I can do something with it, and it was BOGOF anyhoo :))

New York Snow

I love how dark it's getting now, and it was almost snowing this morning! :):):) I <3 winter!
Yesterday I managed to track down the floral skirt I've been looking for for like the last 6 months, I know i'm way behind, but it was so hard to find one that wasn't a rara skirt!

I wore the first outfit on Friday nights with my mega amazing boots, and the other two are just experiments, it's really unusual colours, though you can't really tell from these pictures. Also bought a copy of i-D magazine yesterday and it's like the most inspirational thing ever!ALSO was very excited to find some Vintage black heels in a charity shop (gross I know, but I never wear bare feet with shoes anyway) they're super victorian styleee and surprisingly comfortable!
I would take a picture but it's way too dark now, so on that note goodniiiight Vienna! (and muy muy excited about getting a studded bustier from Style Jungly wooob woob woooooh!)

Skirt - H&M
Jewellery - Home-made / customised
Zipper Jacket - H&M
Blue Jacket - H&M

Strawberries and YOGHURT! Bet you didn't see that one coming...

Ho hum, my computer's playing up so i'm on my mum's and hence, I can't do an outfit post :( Probably a good thing, 'cause I haven't worn anything but school uniform today and I'd probably just end up rambling on about outfits you've seen a million times before...(slight exaggeration)

Anyhoo, i've been thinking a lot about *CHRISTMAS* recently and getting over excited in Sepetember, as is my annual habit :) But this year, it's not just the presents i'm excited about (drumrrrrollll) it's the clothsies! I can't wait to swan around Aberdeen clad in velvet coats, black tights, lacy tops (layered against the cold), and my extensive collection of H&M scarves! Huzzzaaaah!

Things I need to stock up on for autumn/winter:
Velvet ribbons, for that Alice look
A black lace crinoline (A bit OTT maybe? But I want a lacy skirt and I figured just one layer of lace would be a bit see-through, so this is my solution! Plus I always love a pouffy skirt)
Woolly tights. Seriously, I will not survive a Scottish winter in the 40 deniers i'm currently modelling.
The soundtrack to Moulin Rouge! Currently my favourite film, and is it just me, or is Satine just a bit of a style icon?
She reminds me of Mary, in a red-haired and stylish way, not in a prostitute way.

Skrrrrrt

Oh the adventures of Wednesday! Today I returned the floral H&M dress I bought a week or so ago (I figured it wasn't really versatile at all and I would probs never wear it, especially now Autumn's coming) and swapped it for a long grey skirt, along with some money on a gift card, which I'm going to try and spend tomorrow :)
So anyhoo, the skirt, it's long and too big for me and has a kind of broderie anglaise thang going on at the hem, and is super surprisingly easy to wear, I concocted a new favourite outfit combing it with my <3 red jacket <3 and white lace top:

That photo really doesn't do it justice, but anyway, here's it without the coat:

And I figured it would make a good high-waisted skirt as well, but it doesn't really stay up very well, so I'd have to add an elastic belt:

Hooray for random finds :D:D

The Joyful Kilmarnock Blues

I feel a strange patriotic need to dedicate a post to my Tartan MAN shirt. (I'm very proud of it's MANliness) It accompanied me on a successful outing on Saturday night, in an outfit that I tried to recreate for you here:
(I'm wearing the boots from the post below) (and sorry about the strange stripper pose, I know it makes my tights look wierd and all, but I wanted to show at least a bit of my boots!)

Aaaaaaaand i love it with my new H&M diagonal zip jacket (Don't you just heart the red lining?)

Aaaaaaaand I'm in love with the label, which I would take a photo of but it never comes out right... anyway it has this separate bit under the main label which just says "Carpe Diem", how randomly cool can you get!
So there you go, Tartan Shirt proclaims: "Seize The Day!"

99 Red Balloons

^^^^^^^ That there is my aaaawesome "biker" boots (safety boots, stolen from old school pottery room :P)
which I can't get a good photo of, but trust me, they look goood (and I mean goood) with a frilly skirt or skinnies!

I'm actually wearing them in this next photo (check that brilliant linking sentence) along with my <3 red jacket <3 which I love, in case you didn't catch that... I think i'm developing a velvet fetish, hooray!

I like it with the frilly top/very mini dress, I really want to rock out to German electropop in this outfit :D
